Use Orbis Mail with cPanel hosting
Thousands of UK web hosts use cPanel to run email. If your provider gives you a cPanel login, your mailbox will work with Orbis Mail.
Connection settings
- Incoming mail (IMAP)
- mail.yourdomain.co.uk, port 993, SSL/TLS (check cPanel for the exact name)
- Outgoing mail (SMTP)
- mail.yourdomain.co.uk, port 465, SSL/TLS
- Username
- Your full email address
- Password
- Your mailbox password
Good to know
- Some hosts use their own server name (for example server123.hostname.com) for a valid SSL certificate. Use the one shown under the secure SSL/TLS settings.
Step by step
- 1
In cPanel open Email Accounts, then Connect Devices for your address to see the secure server settings.
- 2
In Orbis Mail choose Add mailbox, then pick cPanel (Generic).
- 3
Replace yourdomain.co.uk with the server name cPanel shows, then enter your address and password.
- 4
Run the connection test and save.
Frequently asked questions
- The test says the certificate is invalid. Why?
- Orbis Mail checks certificates to protect your password. Use the secure server name shown in cPanel's Connect Devices page, which matches the host's certificate.
