Use Orbis Mail with Any IMAP email provider
If your email provider supports IMAP and SMTP, and almost all of them do, you can connect it to Orbis Mail with the custom settings option.
Connection settings
- Incoming mail (IMAP)
- Your provider's IMAP server, usually port 993 with SSL/TLS
- Outgoing mail (SMTP)
- Your provider's SMTP server, usually port 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS)
- Username
- Usually your full email address
- Password
- Your mailbox password, or an app password if your provider requires one
Good to know
- Orbis Mail needs IMAP (not POP3) so that your folders and read status stay in sync with your other devices.
Step by step
- 1
Find your provider's IMAP and SMTP settings, usually under 'email client setup' in their help pages or control panel.
- 2
In Orbis Mail choose Add mailbox, then pick Custom / Other.
- 3
Enter the server names, ports, your email address and password.
- 4
Run the connection test and save.
Frequently asked questions
- My provider only offers POP3. Can I connect?
